Oh Dear God, ( or whatever your deity of preference is), you’ve given me a better idea for my hardtop.
Its a Faraday Cage for driving in thunderstorms
Presumably somebody converting their Z3 roadster into a coupe. It would be interesting to know if it was completed and if any photos exist. Certainly looking at the roof profile it has the potential to be a stylish classic coupe, unlike the hash up BMW produced which one can only assume needed to have a big enough hatch to accommodate golf bats.
Similar to the fastback hardtops for Spitfires and Spridgets.

Been around for a few years this photo, wonder if it got any further.
Reminds me of a GT6. If it were finished properly it would make a very interesting ‘Z3 coupe’ - possibly with a removable hardtop…..

Always liked the GT6, much prettier than the MGB, and a six, too. Gives me an idea for something to do if I ever wind up with a spare Z3.

I liked the GT6 too! I had two back in my youth, a green Mk1 which I wrote off in a duel with a lamp post followed by this pimento red Mk 3 pictured here at Seaton on a camping holiday, with wife Sharon admiring the sea view.
I really do like that a lot. Dangerous.
