I think half the appeal for me is the " old school" look and feel of the Z3 for me it's the closest to a British type roadster without the downside of continually wondering when it's going pass out,the mx5 ,mr2,s2000,lotus there all the new generation, just don't have the same feeling,I don't want a car to be perfect I like the fact that it has character and some quirks.Theres not many cars that do it for me most of them just feel generic and you could be sitting in anything ,not with theZ I'm just lucky I can just about afford this one :)
Well said Hugh.

I had the same feeling towards my 1990 Eunos when Shirl got the Mk3 MX5. It felt way too modern for me. I preferred the old model much more.

Have to agree with lots on these comments the Zed has a classic look. Being of a bit of an age at the top of my cars list sits Austin Healy 3000 & Jag Mk2, what do I end up with?
Z3 & an S type Jag, what I think are the 2 modern equivalents.
If you put the Zed spec over the Healy, especially my 2.0Ltr, the size/power wheel base ETC pretty near identical, the S type is just indulgence!!

There really aren't a lot of sport cars that can come close to the Z3 in their modern version. It looks older than it is while also looking newer if that makes any sense. It's a ball to drive even with the 1.9. And Trinity loves it!! JIM

Just been reading all about the new MX5.
Not normally an instant fan of new cars but this one has me intrigued as to how it drives, looks nice, might change my mind when I see it in the flesh.
The power to weight seems good, almost 50 / 50 distribution of weight as well, The wind deflector seems a bit small.
I would have the 2ltr sport in Ceramic Metallic with tan leather.
But don't have £24k to spare

Certainly, it did, but how much was it new compared to the little MX5 of the day?

Both cars give lots of enjoyment mate and if I'm honest if I hadn't ever had my Mazda I wouldn't have ended up with my Z. A fair few on here are the same I think.:):)
