Ah I bought the bulb and holder, when I searched online it read like everyone did the same change and not just the bulb.
I thought it was all one unit...this is what one is like insitu
Anyone on here done the broken heater control fix?

I did note that the ebay ones list clear ones but they don't appear in the drop down choice, no doubt one of the other colours would do.
I seem to recollect fitting some replacement bulbs to someone elses car moons ago via the radio hole, bit of a fiddle but managed it.

I read this and thought it was a whole bulb unit and you couldn't use just the bulbs.

Well after a couple of hours of putting it all back together...it works! What a pain but am pleased I've fixed it. only thing I could put back properly was the kick panel under the glovebox. The screw holders kept popping out...leave that for another day. Took her out for a spin and all seems ok 
I dont know much about the heating controls but the amount of air from my vents increases substantially based on the speed. When I am driving the airflow is more then the fan provides and I am not sure why.
