I had a look around the interweb over here, the only place I could find them was Amazon, and that was the 3/8" drive version for about double the price asked in the US. I'm hoping they'll be cheaper over here officially, only time will tell. Shame, because they look really useful, even if not an every day thing.
 
am i missing something, or is this nothing a good set of ratcheting spanners couldn't do?

I think I would buy the 3/8" drive one as I honestly can't think where I would use the 1/2" model. The 3/8" one would also be good for 1/4" drive so that would be good for me.

I'm thinking they'd be handy for those of us with adjustable rear swinging-arm bushes, bit tight to get in there with conventional spanners/sockets, a lot easier with something that can stand off a bit, not that anyone's going to be doing that sort of thing everyday. Just got to wait for a definite price for over here.
 
If they turn out to be silly money it's back to plan "B" in October then. ;)

The 3/8" is on eBay.com for $22.95 plus P&P. If enough people want a set I can get them delivered to me and forward to someone responsible in the UK for delivery at runs, etc.

They're on Amazon too Jim, but they're only the DIY plastic version not the aluminium ones. I've just bitten the bullet and ordered a "Professional" aluminium one to be delivered locally, so I'll give it a trial and an honest appraisal when I get back to work, and tell you all how it stands up!
There's a revue of the plastic item on Amazon and the person who left it said that the two halves of the plastic case part during use and then close back up pinching your skin. He wasn't impressed.

Just had a quick look on ebay.com, yep, that's the one with the reputation for biting. And how come the 1/2" is more expensive on ebay than it is direct from the manufacturer? Think I'll wait for @t-tony to give one a testing, and for the UK seller to set up properly. No problem with waiting for Tony's appraisal the offer goes whichever you guys decide to do if you want to get a bulk order together! I''m looking for a Canadian supplier and if I find one I'll post prices. With your pound stronger than my $$$ it may be cheaper here! JIM
