I could have swung by, but wrong time, and plus I don't think Sixt would have liked me strapping a HT to the roof of the Volvo V40...

Thanks, as it stands right now @Ashbandicoot and @GazHyde are planning on relaying it down on their cars on Saturday. Maybe you could PM Ash as he's going out of his way as is Gaz so a direct pick up and delivery may save them some grief. The HT is best picked up on a weekend though and as I'm still trying to learn where all the cities and towns are in England don't know if that works for you.

Ok so I should have my M back this weekend which means I can go to Wakefield (20 miles from me) and then I can drive to Bedford next week and then onto Surrey one evening - PM me and let me know if this works
Ok so it is looking very likely that I am picking the HT up this weekend and running it down to Bedford next week - as I then need to get it to Egham somehow one evening is there anyone about / anything happening next week to make the last leg of the road trip interesting?

Not sure yet - need to make sure I get my M back first (should be Friday or sat) and then I'll be driving to Bedford Tuesday, so it'll probably be either Wednesday or Thursday evening
You mean the M1 and M25 average speed cameras mixed with 'managed' motorways signs, the Heathrow/M4 junction then (I think M3 for Egham) with road works are not interesting enough for you!!!
