Burgundy Twillweave? What's twillweave?

Anyone ever bought one of these off these guys in the USA? What's import duty likely to be?

Why would you buy from USA when Hoods Galore, Croydon Hoods and Jack Smith in Swansea can all supply them?
I think Jack Smiths are about that price fitted, and seem to be the go to place for Z3’s

Jack Smith makes his own circa £350 fitted and there are many happy zedders on here that had one fitted, why import an unknown from the states and then get it fitted? I've had a good look at @PHILIP BAXTER s and it is perfect. ;)

Well if I bought just a hood I wouldn't get it fitted. I'd fit it myself - or at least try to. If I messed it up I'd put it down to experience and then go see Jack Smith

I just tried phoning Jack Smith. No naswer. Closed for the weekend I guess.

But you (Nodzed) said yours cost 300 back in 2016. I assume the price has gone up a fair bit since then?

Anyone know what Jack Smith charges nowadays?

No I didn't, I've never had a roof from Jack Smith. The price I suggested is of fairly recent posts on here.

Twill weave is just the method of weaving the fabric, usually used when durability is required. Not to be confused with Twillfast which is a trademark name for the material some of the better replacement roofs are made from.

Thank you AntStark.

That US supplier sells the twill weave roof for under £200 but sells'American' canvas for way over 300. German Canvas for around the same.

So that twill weave looks to be quite a cheap material.

Mine was £350 in 2021 at Jack Smiths, I'm sure I've read somewhere that it's £375 now

By the time you've added P&P and import duties you won't be saving a whole lot over the price of having someone that knows what he's doing make and fit one for you. May mean going to Swansea, mind.
Yep, and anything above £175.00 also incurs VAT; that includes shipping, so the $200 US might cost a fair bit more...

Remember if you are driving to Swansea to add a lot of time due to the 20 mph limit haha

For those of us on the other side of the stream add £400 ferry fares, too...
