After reading the thread by @andyglym , I have been looking at car lifts and came across this one . UK based in Alton
Quickjack

They do a lot of variations but the smallest one seems to be ok for a Z3. (Mine at least !!)
BL-3500SLX. 935.00 plus vat
The only thing that puts me off is that it works using 12v DC supply, and they say Jump Leads !!!!! So assume they just connect it to a battery. They don’t appear to do a mains to DC adaptor unit for it.

I would be interested in any comments or views on this unit

My thoughts, as an engineering surveyor, are that for nearly £1k I'd buy a couple of heavy duty trolley jacks and some good stands.

I've looked at these a couple of times. My thoughts are:
- OK for working on wheels or the engine
- Restricts too much room and side access ways for working on the transmission or exhaust
- Safety mechanism relays on one unsupported bolt (top connection). Is it strong enough?
- agree with others that jacks an axle stands are better

I have the room, unfortunately it's at the wrong house:(

Thank you @Jack Ratt and all that hit the agree button, and @Murray Wall , for your comments.
Going to look for a decent low profile trolley jack possibly with cross beam adaptor and stands.

There are versions of these types of jacks that use a compressor to put the ramps up and lock into place. Some of the car modding shows I watch on YouTube use these types of scissor jacks.

Never seen a Hamer before. Also never seen 4 x farmers jacks used that way either. This would get my vote if I could find four volunteers to operate the jacks while I have another cuppa

It works you just need to jack each corner 4 to 5 inches at a time it take around 5 minutes going nice and easy

Funny you should say that, when I saw these pictures my mind turned to Martin's Z squeezing too mate.

I can usually find the 4 volunteers (and one of them makes the tea), it's the £1650 I'm lacking Garry.;)
