Any definitive knowledge as to what this plug is for? (near side by fusebox). Pics without cap and with cap. Wires going to it but nothing out of the top! My guess is that its for auto transmission, not required as my car is manual?

Obviously not OS diagnostic plug (third image).

Not certain of its exact name but it is an OBD port for diagnostics, sometimes called the Pacman port. In my 2002 car the under dash ODB port doesnt work and I use an adapter to make the standard OBD plug work on this one.

Interesting; what does it diagnose please?

Anything with in the OBD parameters. Abs faults, engine faults and live reporting but as its OBD, it is more limited.

Essentially it provides a port for a Diagnostic tool to diagnose any issues, clear fault codes etc.

Does this duplicate the other OBD plug then, OSF? The fittings look different?

I had two on my last car.
The car had been upgraded with an M50 inlet manifold and had the ECU changed at the same time. I assumed one was the original, and the second was part of the intake and ecu upgrade.
I just left it all alone and tried not to look under the bonnet 🤣🤣
