When we were away last weekend we had went a walk down to the river after breakfast and Lynne spotted this on a hedgerow thought it was unusual looking and deserved a picture .
Looks like some sort of fungi if someone can shed some more light on what it is I'd be interested.

Magic, mushroom.
Is the magic bit the fact it's out in early April in the western highlands ;).
Bearing in mind that part of the world hasn't exactly been like the Bahamas last coulpe of months:)

Nice reading that it has benefits to fighting cancer.

Lots of trees with various fungi on them.
Had a rotting tree trunk with a similar disc like fungus, Some kind of a bracket fungus too, that was more than 3 feet across (that’s a metre for all the whipper-snappers).
While some only grow in the warm autumn time some will grow virtually all year round.

Everyday is a school day. Never seen it or heard of it before.
