so today I picked up another z3 as a donor car for my 2.8. I have been after a pair of tan sports seats for a while but they seem expensive to me. So I have bought a 1.9 1998 black z3 it has tan heated sport seats oem roll hoops and a nice wood style centre consul. My plan was to swap the bit over and resell. But my son and his girlfriend have decided they will have after I swap me bits over I don't mind though because it was still cheaper than buying the individual parts from breakers. The seats need a little bit of tlc the belt holders are both broken but I have a new spare set anyway and the bushes need changing too. The leather is pretty good no rips or tears and the stitching is all intact. I must say how pleasently surprised I was at the little 1.9 it drives really nice and is surprisingly nippy with a lovely exhaust note it's a bit crusty around the edges though and ideally needs replacement wings and cills.

They're on my list as well. My view is the same as yours. They seem expensive.

Just done this myself. Bought a grey one, with sports seats. Swapped these over a couple of days ago. Very happy

Good fun trying to sort the wiring out as the connectors were taped up at the console behind the handbrake and not with the other switch connectors under the heated dials. So I had to take out the centre console to sort it all out.

Now getting my doner car sorted and ready for sale.

Loving the look of the sports seats you have acquired.

I got the car for 850 I figured swap the bits and sell the car on for I don't know must be worth £700 still got 8 months mot. So I should have got everything for about £150-£200 had it not been snapped up by my son.

I was the highest bidder on a cheap 1.9 at a garage in Tamworth that had the bits I wanted but it disappeared this morning with a cancelled bid notice from eBay. My plan was exactly the same as yours, swap the bits over and sell on as close to break even as possible but that one got away. Never mind they seem to be coming up for sale in numbers now that winter is just around the corner and I don't mind playing the long game.

So today had a good go at stripping the black and blue one to swap over the parts.
