Hello and thank you for allowing me to join. I’m Ed, and I’ve had a lot of cars through the years. It’s been a while since I had a roadster though.
my first car was an MGA, a true roadster and one I drove cross country in 1966
this is my third BMW, an X3 and a 528 preceded this one.
I just bought this ‘97 Z3 with the 2.8 6 (I think)..it’s a 6 anyway
its straight and the body and the motor look good.
the interior could use a little help
also I have no owners manual and am struggling to grok all the buttons and lights
ant insights on these ….much appreciated

Thank you all for your friendly welcome. Completed change of ownership and registration with smog certificate on Monday. Went in to the BMW dealer and ordered another key.
Z3 (as yet unnamed) goes in to my mechanic today for a brief once over.
watched Pierce Brosman as James Bond drive a dead ringer for mine briefly in “Goldeneye “
a very long day and I slept well last night

If I'm not mistaken James Bond's z3 was a 1.9 4cyl. Your's is 2.8 so not quite a dead ringer. You in your zed would leave bond far behind. He'd be shaken, not stired, in a cloud of your dust.
