There is some info in this section, bumper removal etc .... https://zroadster.org/articles/category-listBe buying them rear wings now then. Is there a guide on here off someone already done it.
I'd be taking @Synclare up on his offer @Sp02zbr. Adrian knows his stuff and may well have some panels you need to boot. As long as it's mechanically good and the sills (not sill covers) and chassis are good there's no reason not to go ahead and sort the cosmetics. As said the 2.2 sport is a sort after model and has a decent value attached.I'm not far from you, if you wanted to come down the farm near Lichfield one Saturday we can have a gander and happy to help you sort stuff. Don't worry I won't try and sell you stuff!! I know how they come apart.
£2k was the right money in my view. And warrants a £2k investment if you end up with a nice car.I paid 2k inc delivery from Scotland to Birmingham.
Forget to mention it had the Bonnet catch break as it’s common fault so replaced every part
I work for bmw and mini so everything I buy for it is genuine bmw parts. Not always that expensive.
Seems like it’s worth restoring. Great news.

I have the bmw repair guide they printed off for me
Sorry, but I wold never and have never done so, buy a car unseen.Bought this after selling my rover coupe. From Scotland unseen.
At that price I would say you got a car well worth making a go of. Good luck.I paid 2k inc delivery from Scotland to Birmingham.

With panels removed you could even find some of the panels repairable if even for a short term to spread costs. It doesn't look as bad as you describe from the pictures. Rusty and rotten are a fair ways apart! What a great forum this is.
Totally opposite to the rsoc I was in.
Here’s a few pics of the rust I’ve just taken as I’ve drove it to work today.
I bought mine unseen and it was advertised just 30 mins away.Sorry, but I wold never and have never done so, buy a car unseen.
IMHO you are asking for trouble as only a tiny % of sellers are honest about the car and only show photos of the best bits.
I always bought my cars from a friend of mine who has a garage and showroom.
If he did not have a car I was interested in, I would ask him to look for me and his judgement is always spot on.
OK, there is obviously a cost involved but its minimal compared to ending up with a car that needs loads of work.
Probably a very honest add from the owner or you are a chancer ....I bought mine unseen and it was advertised just 30 mins away.
Your right on both countsProbably a very honest add from the owner or you are a chancer ....
@SynclareAw guys.
Appreciate that. Let me know when your free and I’ll take up your offer.
Cheers
Your best move would be take up @Synclare offer. A look over by him of your car would be pricelessCars great. Just looks ugly at the moment. Not like the ones on here.
Best start getting panels off
If that’s RS owners club I know what you mean. I was a member 30 years ago and they were the same them. What a great forum this is.
