What a great afternoon spent at Zed shed Midlands Ltd. We got loads done today (well Tony did lol! )
Ant showed me how to get on with the DA while he helped Tony change his diff, gearbox an engine oils.
I did the whole car and the transformation is incredible. Can't believe just how dull the paint had gone in such a short time.
Also had a seat lifter fitted to the passenger seat and the diff mount bush changed so no more knocking!
@Bozzy turned up, always nice to see the short one! He took the DA from me when my back finally said enough is enough!
Huge thanks to Tony for his help yet again and his hospitality, a huge thanks to Ant for loaning me his DA and polishes and finally to Steve for saving my back from a fate worse than death!

Oh and finally after @Bozzy spotted I had odd fog lamps, which I had never noticed it turned out that so did @Antm72 and luckily they were the correct sides so we swapped to make a matching pair. Happy days!

What a great place to be, need somewhere like this down South Wales so I could get by rear bushes done.

Is it a big job to replace diff bush?

No, it's not difficult. I'm sure Dave has the pictures to show you?.

1. Jack up the car with the jack under the Diff.
2. Place stands under the rear jacking points under the sills.
3. Slacken and remove the nut and bolt which goes through the centre of the bush.
4. Lower the jack until the bush mounting aperture is below the mounting brackets.
5. Poke out the old centre part of the bush. (they are usually totally tired and fall out).
6. You then have to remove the old steel outer shell of the bush by cutting right through it in one place, then knocking it out with hammer and chisel.
7. Make sure there are no bumps or burrs in the alloy and assemble poly-bush.
8. Jack Diff. back up into position and replace and tighten nut and bolt.
9. Take weight of car on jack and remove stands from jacking points and lower car back to the ground.
10. Job done. Tea and road test (in no particular order);)

Has been a very productive day. The zed was due a fluid change and @t-tony had kindly offered to assist with work space and tools.
Not being the best with my hands at the moment i wasn't really allowed to do much but mucked in when needed.
All oils changed Diff,gearbox and engine and topped up the power steering fluid, it has always had a fairly smooth gear change but this as made it silky smooth the diffs silent and the engine can bearly be heard at tick over so a great day.
Massive thanks tony your a top man and i appreciate what you have done today.

Got a ride in tony's Z4 with @Bozzy at the helm totally different car to the 3 but its looking great sat on its new suspension.
A big thanks to everyone especially @t-tony and thanks @Grumpy for dinner.

You're asking a lot here Tony. Count to ten. When we've got to five we're lost - we no longer have any spare fingers to point with while we count. Try it =))
