It is not clear what lights you are using for DRLs. Is it the angel eyes, or low beams?

The DRL's are mounted in the front grille aperture, 2 x oblong light units. No angel eye rings are bright enough in sunny weather to be effective at catching the eye at longer distances as they might in low light.
