But getting the hog rings off and on is as bad as most people say it is. And I wouldn't even bother trying to put them back without proper hog ring pliers (and new hog rings).
I used to strip/repair cars seats quite often back in the 70s and 80s Rob, and those so called hog rings were a pain back then. What I did was cut the old ones off, and when it came to refitting I used 1/16 mild steel welding rod. You can bend an angle on the end, push it through the material then holding the short end with pliers you use the length of the rod to bend the ring into a circle. Then cut the rod off and do the same with the others. dead easy fix for this issue.

These used to be about 30" long but are still useful at 12" and not expensive either.

Tony.

Nice one Tony. Right up there with the broken engine casing to gearbox mount fix you gave me :)

I was just looking through the latest car listings on Gumtree and spotted this. Definitely needs a trip to the upholsterers and then some love from the Furniture Clinic range of goodies :)

They look nice.... and soft. I have the same seats but they have hardened over the years, any recommendations for a leather softener?
Yes and no.

Andy’s Seats had Leather Revive from Furniture Clinic for good measure.

But it has to be applied after the old sealant has been chemically removed in the first stage. It won’t penetrate the leather otherwise.

You wouldn’t remove the old sealant unless you were re-dyeing the seats :(

I am assured by Furniture Clinic that any product that claims to soften leather by sitting on top of the sealant is false. The sealant is there on all seats to stop anything penetrating.

The first stage is very aggressive and removes not only the sealant but some of the original dye too.

My bolster has gone right by the stitching to replace that section goes righ from base to the head rest as ///M seats are in one piece unlike the sport seats are in two pieces.
I discussed that with another forum member recently. It’s a very long section. He had no option but to get his upholsterer to tackle it.

Yup, very happy from a cosmetic point of view, look much better than the standard seats. Just need to play around with them to get the most comfy setting for ling drives :)
This looks awesome. Seriously special Z you have made their Andy.

Re the seat adjustment- I would suggest you talk to @Pingu about the lift kits. Even the 10mm tilt is noticeable. I had tilt on my standard and sports seats and even now on the Sparcos as I missed the tilt.
He does a trial fit set so you can test different angles before deciding.
