Alpine White 23i - #31

Yeah, you could just buy the one for sale with the black wheels Garrie.;) Re the badges, I kind of agree, my E89 was built as 'model delete' so came as yours is now, but I missed the Z badge so I just fitted a Z4 badge on the back which also covered a minor scratch. Bonus!

I gave the car a good clean on Sunday and removed the Z4 badge as the Z was loose again. Ive just bought a black replacement. Will give that a go or delete. Is it easy getting rid of the sticky stuff?

I have always used a tiny bit of t-cut which gets the sticky residue off without any danger of damaging the lacquer.

First of what I'd call an Autumn / Winter run out - lovely and cosy with the heated seats on for a bit and the AC on for the duration. As much as I liked the 20i I've definitely missed that 6 cylinder burble the N52 affords 👍

But please - dont talk about my wife like that! 🤣

Be interested to know what you feel the difference is between that and a 3.0? Marked difference?

Nothing in it for me apart from an additional 50bhp and obviously the 30i's command a much higher price - this was my old manual 30i.

As you'd probably expect there is a much more noticeable difference in the 3 litre N52 between E89 & E85/E86.

Wow, that 3.0l had a nice colour combination Garrie, think I've seen one like it near here.:)
I'm to lazy for DSB but Alpine White is right up my street - tbh it doesn't matter either way at the minute with this bloody hosepipe ban.

To add insult to injury Yorkshire Water have just taken their £155 monthly payment and as I look out the window it's p****** down 🙈

Love my Titan preasure washer from Screwfix. Battery operated and uses a bucket

Picked the car up after having the wheels refurbished - one of them was slightly buckled so they sorted that as well.

I went with the satin black option and yes I know I should have spent the money on better quality rubber but where's the fun in that when the budgets still have plenty of tread left 😉

Still not sure about black wheels, even on a white car, they don't seem to look clean . They obviously don't show the muck and brake dust as quickly so I guess that's a bonus.

As they do the passenger door pull on my car had picked up a few marks and become a little sticky - so I replaced it today with a trim piece that arrived earlier this week.

Very simple job that didn't even require any trim tools - just pulled the old one off and clipped the new one on 👍

Likelihood is I will never use it but it does look better and as with most of these jobs knowing it's been done just makes me feel better.

The existing wipers were looking very tired so I decided to replace them. Called Sytner but couldn't justify the £66 they wanted so I ordered the appropriate Bosch replacement.

Much to my dismay despite multiple attempts and numerous YouTube videos the Bosch wipers didn't fit. Very odd because they were the recommended fitment for the car across multiple websites but it was as if the brackets were the wrong way round. So the spoiler faced up and the curve on the passenger side was the wrong way round.

Anyway I ended up with a generic set of eBay that were cheaper than the Bosch and fit much better with the drivers side being 22" and the passenger side 20" - the Bosch were equal length (21").

Bought mine from BMW Peterborugh via ebay for £50, genuine BMW still a lot for wiper blades but a savving on RRP

On the E89 the oe blades are the best by some way..tried Bosch and a couple of others..none as good as OE..fwiw ..imho

That's better:thumbsup:

My Bosch wipers have always squeaked until I used rainX on the windscreen. However I now get lots of tiny bubbles instead:bashhead:Bubbles not as annoying as squeaks though:)
