Assuming this doesn't happen when the car is unlocked, my first point of call would be the under bonnet sensor switch. Try disconnecting it and see if the problem goes away. If so, fit a new switch.

Its on the bonnet slam panel, near side front.
Yes I’ve disconnected it! However others mention an anti rock/tilt switch in the boot and also a movement sensor in the cabin.
Plus an auto electrician I’ve used before said it could be a BBU switch???

Try the bonnet catch first. Suck it and see. Did he explain what a BBU switch is? IIRC the tilt sensor lives in the LH boot well?

He said it’s a Battery Back Up ???
Got my battery on charge so I’ll put it back on and see Before I do anything else!!
New one on me. If charging the battery stops it your battery has to be suspect.

The tilt sensor was causing me a major headache on my M, even setting the alarm off when I was driving, it had got wet at some point in its life and corroded the terminals I left it disconnected, problem solved. The motion sensors in the car still worked and set the alarm off when tested, not really sure the tilt sensor is a massive addition to the system
