You will find wiring diagrams here http://www.hc.lv/inc/Upload/news_290/File/e36z3_98.pdf but note 98 was a change year for modules so may not be identical. It's a bit of hazy territory - the alarms were UK dealer fitted in that period and one theory is that dealers used up what they had on the shelf so different versions were fitted in the same period. There are different opinions. If you look on the suspension turret under the bonnet it should have a sticker showing build date. This is applies to mine from a dec 97 build https://zroadster.org/articles/3g-ews-remote-fob-programming.24/. What is your actual build date and fault? Thanks, do we know what month in 98 the alarm changed types, I am presuming as my key has no buttons apart from a light it is the original old type that would have had a separate button fob, thanks
Some of the breakers in the group will probably have the `house brick' fobs if it doesn't work try @spurs fan in a coupe @mrscalex @SynclareThanks junco, very informative, my issue I do not have any remotes to operate the central locking and I cannot find any, so I am looking at fitting a universal fob and either replacing the control box or piggy backing one onto it, once I have worked out the connections, I am sure somebody has done this before but I will give it a go.
Hi, could you sell me a fob please send details thanksI have a number of fobs and keys available. I did post on a similar thread, but cant find it now!
