I have recently got a new key which can finally unlock and lock the car on the buttons

So this means the alarm can now activate
Which I can see it does as the light thing flashes

However when I set the alarm off by using my old key in the door slot, the indicators started flashing which I assume is the alarm going off

However, no siren

Is there a way I can test the siren is working?

Thanks Chris

Open a door with the car armed (easiest if you have a window already down—reach in and open the door from the inside).

Either:
- Siren is broken
- It's been turned off

The BMW siren has a key switch which allows the owner to turn the siren off. It's a round key and is usually lost early in the life of the car.

Where do I find said key switch?

I have heard of it before, and someone on the forum figured out how to bodge it without a key

Do you know where I find the siren, as I could test it, if knew where it was?

Thanks Chris

Mines just below the fuses box. Little black box/siren with a round lock at the bottom. There’s a cable running into the top of the siren.

the key looks like a round one, like the ones you get for cheap paddlocks.

Hmmm I am starting to think my car doesn’t have an alarm

However it has the flashing light in the cabin
and the indicators flash when I try and “break” in
