Write Up Alan’s run in the rain

Thanks to Alan, Maxine, Mazza and Tricia for a great day out today.
Despite Alan dishing out 10% Belgian beer and red wine the night before then just before we set off in the morning reversing into my passenger door (no damage) and breaking my internal courtesy light we all had a great day driving around in the rain.
Fun was supplied by Alan forgetting his hood was up and bashing his head while getting out. He even gave a bloodied tissue to the waitress at our first pit stop just to make her feel included in our adventure.
Alan and Maxine had put a lot of effort into making sure that all the narrowest roads were included and even organised a large number of cyclists to make sure that negotiating them was always going to be interesting. He was particularly proud of the first section between his house and the viewpoint at Portsdown Hill as we drove that bit 3 times on the way out and once again on the way back.
Another highlight was the stop to admire the view at Singleton Shute. The only thing on display here was white mist, so we did what all good zedders do. We popped open our bonnets and compared engine bays! It is quite interesting to see the differences between engines and components as the years of production progressed from 1998 (Mazza) to 2001 (Mine). For some reason the female members of the group were not exactly enamoured of this particular part of the run.
A few more narrow lanes and then we finished up at a great little cafe in West Dean for drinks and cakes. As the run had now officially finished, the Sun came out so it was ‘hoods down’ and join the roadworks on the M3, queues on the M27 and solid traffic on the A34 for a long tortuous journey home.
All in all a great day.... great cars, great company and more than a few laughs along the way.

Unfortunately not... that is simply the glare of my headlight reflecting on their wet rear light clusters.

Great day out, even if the weather didn't want to play ball.
My head will heal eventually, it's what happens when you are follically challenged and not used to having the hood up.
Now must put the record straight:-
@Dalek I didn't break your courtesy light. I only gave you an LED bulb.
I will be able to polish the pistachio paint off my rear bumper, not taking all the blame for that either, I was reversing out of the garage, mirrors still folded. My exit was clear when I got in the car, who opened your passenger door? Mystery! You know I have history when reversing as that lamppost in Lincolnshire will testify.
Also, I had no idea that the waitress was a vampire.
This morning I have done the 'walk of shame' taking your empties to the bottle bank.
Other than that a great factual report and nice pictures.

the only downside for me during the day.........when we stopped at one point to put the roof up, Alan and Paul just had to push a button, I had to get out the car and do it manually

Now wheres that bucket and washing up liquid....need to clean the car again
