Anyone have access to an ak90 key programmer for the ews system?
My car only came with one key so want to get another for piece of mind .
Know it can be done using an ak90 to read the ews and subsequently write and programme new keys.
The software and hardware isn't too expensive but was wondering has anyone got this kit or had a key made or brought one from bmw .

Not heard of anyone on here programming their own keys before, just taking it on the chin and paying their local dealer to do it.

The kit only cost 60 quid to do all ews systems delete and write and rewrite will try alock smith but if its too expensive will buy the kit looks a simple procedure to follow.
Just thought id ask you never know !

Yeah, always worth checking. Be interesting to see how well it works if you head down that route though

Theres loads of youtube videos showing the process its what the lock smiths use. It reads the main chip in the ews and also reads keys and tells you their position in the ews you can lock out lost keys and add new ones you select the position place it in the ak90 and it writes the chip looks a simple piece of kit to behonest.
