Hi fellow Zeds.

Has anyone the Airbag light reset tool and could reset it for me, please? I'm West Midlands based.

I'm in Telford if you fancy a trip?
But always worth buying one as well at that price.

Thanks, I've ordered one. I do get to Telford so if I struggle to work this, can I pop to have you do it, please?

Of course, pop along and I can show you how to use it. Also if the code comes straight back on I can take a look and try and fix the problem
The most common reason for the light to come on is due to a connection under the seat, They are not very good connectors.
No way of resetting though without plugging in.

Also if the seat gets taken out, then the ignition is turned on. That is also a common cause.

The other benefit of the one listed it comes with the adapter which can be used with more advanced fault finders

Great, thanks.

You'll be needing that one to reach the airbag side of things, the socket under the steering column only connects to the engine stuff. My e46 is a year older than the Z3, but everything is on OBD2 on that. Madness.

You’ll need to investigate why the light came on. It’s only a tell-tale for another issue.

Resetting the light won’t make the issue go away. Unless you removed the seats with the battery connected.

I would take up the offer of help rather than have any expectation buying a reset tool is going to solve anything.

I shall - I know it's not the airbag and this has been a recurring issue with my car since I had it. That's some time now.

I thought about getting one from ebay can they be used for resetting the sevice lights aswell or is that a different bit of kit.

And if you do come this way I will call round so you can look at my roof as never got chance at the weekend and I think you were looking for one that's been done at Jack Smiths?

I am not too far away from Telford and I have the lead and INPA on an old laptop which I could possibly bring over if you come when I am free. The faults come up in German but I can usually translate via Google.
