Airbag fault light on - help!

Hello!

Just looking for some help with my airbnb fault light (it just started coming on).

Is it worth buying a B800 scanner? Would this tell me where the fault is coming from? Or is it possible just to drive up to a garage and ask them to check? Do normal garages have the scanner which will work on my 1997 z3?

Thanks so much!
Yashka

Having just read your welcome thread it seems that you may have a couple of local members nearby.
One of them may have a code reader to plug in and see what the fault code shown is and if its something that needs replacement or if it just needs reset.

B800 scanner will read and reset airbag codes, get one off ebay, not much money.
You will need the 20pin round socket to 16pin OBD2 plug cable to connect to the round diagnostic socket in the engine bay.
You will save the cost of it first time you use it over garage charges for doing the same thing.

This one looks like its a China supplier, look for a uk supplier usually Manchester based like this one

Bought a chinese made B800 off e-bay complete with the round plug. Cost equivalent of 30 UK quids delivered. Told me where the fault was so I could fix it, then it reset the light. The unit was delivered faster than I could get the car into the auto electrician.

Just bought one, £11.99, delivered quick as winkie. They all seem t be Chinese, mine came from Alfreton. Does what it says and came with the round plug adapter. I ordered a B800 and got an AC808 - a revised newer version?

My c110 has been a handy tool used on a few zeds now it helped to diagnose a rolling immobiliser code fault on a members car has done a couple of airbag reset used for a misfire on a new member car up this way .
Think I paid £28 for it plus a couple of quid for the 16 to 20 pin lead had a look on ebay just now still for £30 or so .
