Air mass sensor

My air mass sensor requires changing. Where is the best one for my 3.0 are pattern parts ok ? Or best to stick to a geuine one.

I suspected mine was faulty as I kept getting a related fault code. I wasn't happy with ordering a pattern part and the genuine part is quite expensive so I got a used one fairly cheaply. Predictably though, the problem hasn't completely disappeared and so I'm wondering whether I should have bought the new part (or not).

I always use OEM sensors (2 years warranty). Cheaper ones are often a false economy.

Personally I’d buy a secondhand genuine for around £20. Which is exactly what I did recently as I didn’t have a spare.

Known working used one if you can find one otherwise a oem replacement, don't buy pattern Mafs you will be throwing money down the drain. Been there done that lesson learnt.

Agree with everyone else, I bought a used (working) one and it solved my problem.

£30 instead of £300+

Use OEM but dont get it from BMW there are indie suppliers out there that will source the correct one got the genuine Siemens one for the Alpina that way and cheaper than BMW
