Does anyone know the width and height of the air intake gap? The scooped part to the right of the fan . Looking to get some duct/hose to better direct the air to the new cone filter, but not about until the weekend to measure it up

Not sure on the measurements you need but take a look at my cold air feed in my build thread. I took one directly from the bumper grill up behind the fan and into the bottom of my heat shield. I don't think or know if it's made any difference whatsoever but I fancied making one and it looks cool.

Wow, that's a long old read, but bloody impressive! Serious dedication with that zed. I think I've measured the gap at just over 40mm, so ordered 1m of 50mm hose that I can squeeze in the gap and cut in half to double up. Love the idea of enclosing the filter to keep it cool. May have to look at the cost of Ali sheet

Maybe I should have linked straight to the cold air intake so you didn’t have to read so much! I can’t remember how much the aluminium sheet cost that I used but wasn’t much. Make a template out of card and transfer it, looks nice and neat enclosing the air filter.

Post some pics when you make yours up
