Guys I am seriously considering the above whilst the front of my Z is off, just wondering how feasible it is, my pockets are not as deep as they where when I started this project so finances will dictate the outcome,
I can't seem to get my head around where the cold air enters the ventilation system and does it come straight from the pump or condenser,
Thanks in advance
Also any breakers out there for the parts

I think the only way to do this successfully is to have a donor car next to the new car and swap bits as you go

Sean you will need full dash out as you will need the heater box with the evaporator in it and the recycle flap you will need the switch as well ( going on the assumption the wiring is installed) that's just the inside stuff.
Had thought about it but a fair bit of work really would depend on how much your zed is ( or is going to be stripped down )

Along with that AC pipes are notoriously routed in odd places so now would be the time.

I have to say that I've used mine quite a bit these last few weeks Steve.

I charged my skoda back up before 2 weeks in Norfolk in July glad I did so know what you mean Tony.
I think as a retro fit to a zed especially with a 6 cyl would be a fair bit of work ( don't get me wrong worth it if you could do it ) but if you had enough of the car apart and access to everything you needed it is possible.
And if we got more summer like this year could be worth the effort.

Had the Z4 nearly a year now, if its sunny the top is down if its cold the heaters on, never used the Aircon. But do like it in the daily 1 series

The aircon should be used regularly to keep it working properly. Cool air through the vents is good with the top down, using it in the winter helps keep any damp away and good for demisting.

Yes I have thought about doing the same, but need a 2.8 facelift scrapper sat next to the car . prices too high at the moment though.
If your 2.8 scrapper had AC I'd happily let you park next to mine and transfer the parts over. I'd even watch.

Agree.
I use mine with the hood down when it’s silly hot as in Kent it can get proper hot

In winter I find aircon an essential for demisting on any car.

If you want full engine power just floor it and the air on is switched off under full throttle anyway (so you’ll probably needs some sort of switch too @Sean d )
