Here you go Dave,@Grumpy the efforts of 1 1/4 hrs. toil. On stands and jacks, wheels off, callipers off, discs off all ready for cleaning and painting.

And this is how I cap the hoses while the callipers are off. You lose hardly any fluid.

Just in case you thought that I'd only stripped one side .....................

New front pads required while it's in bits. Busy day tomorrow.

Tony.

Double garage not required, you only gather more crap, have a look there's only one car in there. Granted a bit of space to move around.;)

I do have enough width under the carport to be fair. Just need to find a bit more knowledge now!

Them calipers will look good when you've painted them....what colour?
Intended taking mine off tonight ready for painting.....until I nodded off on the settee :meh:
Plus it was icy cold outside and I've been freezing all day on t site .
Got Me wheels back tonight as well :)....not fitting them till I've got me calipers done though.
So you can take all 4 off together then Tony ? And what have you used to plug the brake pipes? If you don't mind me asking :).

And what have you used to plug the brake pipes?
They're just some brake pipe unions which have a piece of pipe flared for that particular end and then the pipe cut short, flattened and bent over and flattened again. I can easily make you some if you would like me too Steve.:)
Oh, and never mind what colour, you'll find out soon enough, you've got less patience than that Grumpy geezer.=))=))

I will borrow the pressure bleeder from work over the weekend and do a fluid change while I'm at it, only you don't need a pressure bleeder, if you remember how I showed you and Bryan. I've used that method for many years and even the other day after doing some pipes on a 4X4 at work bled it just the same.

Tony.

Here you go Mike @EnthuZiaZT , today's hard labour in pictures. After last night's removal, first job today to remove slider bushes and clean all 4 callipers and carriers, what dusty horrible job. Nice to get that out of the way.
001.jpg

After a run to work to pick up my Torque wrench and some brake cleaner, I washed them all down with brake cleaner and after they were dried they got a coat of red oxide.
002.jpg
That'll dry nicely over night. Next came the back plates. I wasn't too sure on what to do here so tried one thing, didn't like it, so I did this.
004.jpg
005.jpg

The runs don't matter as they're behind the disc out of sight.
006.jpg
007.jpg

I almost forgot to mask the handbrake shoes!, that could have been costly. Last night I noticed the front pads weren't worth putting back so when I went for the Red oxide paint I got some new Mintex pads, Oh, and another tin of Clear coat for the insides of the wheels.
Last thing for today, the first coat of silver on the disc hubs, more coats tomorrow as required.

And, not a coloured calliper in sight!;)

Ooooh red oxide primer, the caliper paint I bought doesn't say owt about applying primer before painting, got me wondering if I'll have to do the same?.
Shaping up well there mate, the back plates are better in silver it's a shame they won't be seen apart from the top edge but at least they'll be in tip top condition .
So what colour you doing the calipers?......not sure if I asked that already .

I didnt put any primer on the paint I used recently - got mine from BIGGRED. Guess it depends on the type of paint you buy

EDIT: Checked my receipts and it turns out the pistons and rebuild kit was from BIGGRED but the paint was from here http://www.brakecaliperspecialists.uk/product/ferrari-yellow-brake-caliper-painting-kit/
