Advice Appreciated - Z3 with Very Rusted Inner Sills Jacking Points

Great idea Andy.

Tony.

A combination of angle grinder and reciprocal saw, not a nice job, noisy, messy, uses lots of blades and discs and always risking losing a pinky.

I cut between the purple marks as that’s the easiest / safest area to go for.

Very informative shot of that end-on profile of the sill section, much obliged - I'll keep that to let me know what I'm working with in behind!

Hey all. Just completing a sill removal and replacement, so I thought I would offer some tips.
1. Removing complete outer sill from donor vehicle took approximately 8 hours per side to drill out all of the spot welds and free up the outer sill.
2. We had some concern about cutting the outer sill from the vehicle to be repaired would compromise the structure and result in body alignment / door alignment issues. This was not a problem.
3. Fitting and rewelding the outer sills took approximately 8 hours of labour per side. Not too much grinding/clean up required as they are hidden under the rocker.
4. WARNING: You will likely find more rust around inner sill panel, floor panels, front frame sections that will require a significant investment of time to repair. I would not do it again!
