Thank you for asking about Alan .
Were had a few appointments at addenbrookes, the latest news is he’s blind in his right eye , he’s damaged his cornea, optic nerve, retina, and the outside of his eye isn’t healing, also his muscles are badly damaged.
We see the consultant about his skull in about 3 months to see what is going on with the fractures and brakes to see if they are healing, and about the operation they are going to do .
Alan has lots of pain in his face and his eye because all the nerves are damaged, on his right side , his teeth don’t match up so it’s awkward for him to eat , his ears play him up, because of the pressure.
Were had a few appointments at rehab, which seam to be going well .
I think it’s just time to see what happens but on the whole he’s doing really well .
Were trying to get back to some kind of new normal.
Tiny steps, but those tiny steps add up to a lot .
Alan gets tired very easily, but he can sleep when he wants as that to me is what nature does to heal you better.

I feel for you both it must have been some hit to damage Alan like that. How are you Shelly are you coping ok ? It must take its toll on you too. thinking of you both and best wishes.

The last few weeks all I’ve done is cry a lot , the other week when Alan had a rehab appointment, I cried a lot in his appointment, I was asked if I wanted to see a therapist to help me through this , but I said no , at the beginning of all of this in November, I was really strong, but it seams to of hit me now .
we will both get there in the end , we’re both got lots of time to heal .🌞🙂
 
Time is a healer but Alan needs you strong and if offered help maybe consider it. It’s really not for me to say but if the offer is there. Anyhow take care and soon be spring a the pair of you need to get well and get out in Snow White.

Many thanks for the update, from what you say it will be tough for both of you for a while yet. Hopefully as each day passes Alan gets that little bit better and hopefully as back to normal as possible.

Were getting their slowly 🥰
Alan is doing very well as to being with the medical team didn’t think he would make it 🌞
