Its mot time in June so I think I better sort out my abs and dsc warning lights inpa says its front wheel sensors and they are due to arrive tomorrow but there is some talk on here about bad soldered joints on the abs module I am handy with a soldering iron that's whati do fora living , can I take the module off the pump or will it loose brake fluid .? Any help will be appreciated
Thanks
4, small but long, torx bolts hold the module on.
You can remove it by undoing these, and removing the cable plug,
all this without any loss of brake fluid. The pump unit is sealed fully and separately from the ECU
The unit can then be cut open with a dremel around the body, in effect cut the lid off it (you will see where,) but don't cut too deep.
The dry joints are usually where the long extended plug connectors go through to the circuit board. Just reheat to melt, add a bit more solder. Check all the others while it is open, and then use something like Tiger Seal to re-seal the unit back together.
That is IF you need to go there..
