Abs help

mot today but the abs light is on and it’s definitely the abs module could be the dry joint issue but there seem to be plenty of second hand ones on eBay ... but how do I identify which one I need?this is the vin No of our car wbach32010Le91827 any help would be appreciated thanks bmw z3 2.8

Part number is on the module Hugh.
Just one thing dont know how this will go with yours but on a standard zed 3 with asc +t. The module is coded to the car if you put another one in Abs with function correctly but traction control wont work
( light will turn on and off on switch but traction is unavailable ) but as your M does not have traction control this may not be an issue.

Just had a quick look on real Oem and this came up for the car .looks the same but! It does say ended as in not made any more?

There are two ABS units on Z3's, the one as seen above and another one with a combined ECU as seen here:

This one came from a Feb 1999 2.8 with a VIN very close to yours, LE92121. They are all ASC types and it just depends what day of the week it was as to which was fitted.

Not sure if the 2.2 that I am breaking is any good to you pal, but you are welcome to any of the ABS parts as I was planning on leaving them on the car, so just pay for postage

You did state it was for the Z3 2.8 Huw. @Jjim was telling me on Saturday he repaired the unit on the 2.2 he has for this fault. Send him a PM mate.

2.2's have either DSC - so a different E46 unit, or the ASC+T 896/897 unit. The one in the pics above was an early ASC unit.

And you're sure the abs ring is not cracked or broken?/
Was looking at Rock Auto who has great prices but non available.
