Hi everyone, I'm having an issue with my z3 2.0l m52 engine.

I'm getting a faulty rear left wheel speed sensor, I've replaced it twice but I can't remove the code, and the ABS/ASC light is stuck on my dash..

I've replaced the wheel speed sensor with a hella one I put in yesterday and I've driven the car a good few miles today but no luck

I also had a fault code saying the ASC button was faulty, I cleared the code and that ASC button code went away but not the wheel speed sensor code..

Thanks for any help given I really appreciate it

Welcome to the forum Debbie, I recently had the same issue, but my code reader did not read any fault codes that I could clear. The offending lights went off by themselves after a few drives. Probably not that helpful, I know but there you go.. I might mention my little vixen of a car does this sort of thing to me on a regular basis..

Unless it’s not the sensor but the ABS ring on the driveshaft, they can swell up, or distort, due to corrosion. Usually the left rear that’s goes first as it’s exposed to more crud/salt. Worth checking the face of the sensor, if you still have it, for any witness marks, they look like polished marks.

The connectors looked clean yesterday but I'll double check again tomorrow because it's dark out now

Thank you so much

Check that the reluctor ring on the driveshaft isn't snapped or even has a piece missing.

Tony.

Not sure if it's the same as mine , 1.9. but I had ongoing issues with the abs lighting up. I replaced all the sensors, eventually narrowed down to the abs box. The unit has two solder joints that can crack, it's a dead easy fix once you get the unit open. You could hardly see the cracking in the solder on mine. But it fixed it permanently. I didn't even use fresh solder just reheated what was there. I posed some pics on here a couple of years ago
