Had a visitor here at Zedshed Midlands this afternoon, in fact he called in at work so a stop on the way home at the A57 Cafe was in order.
A proper sandwich washed down with a cuppa. Who was it you say?

My mate Roy, bearing gifts. He must've known it was my birthday a couple of weeks ago :).
He let me have go in his new old banger. S'all right I suppose;).

Really nice to see Roy again, it's always a pleasure chatting with him.

Definitely the weather for a coupe today mate, how did it feel compared to yours ?.

Definitely "tighter" than my roadster but wether that's all down to being a rigid body or all the mods which Lee has done, or a mixture of the two I can't say. Either way a very nice drive indeed Steve it's certainly plastered a big grin on the Pikey's mug. =))

Tony.

Did he call in for lake fish??? How did you drive the coupe Tony it has an extra pedal which I thought may throw you a bit! Nice to see Roy is up on brownie points and allowed out for the day.

I didn't use the left foot rest mate, it kept going down to the floor for some reason? The gears were a bit sticky and made some funny grinding noises when I used the steptronic to change manually:whistle:. Roy kept muttering something like " mind me synchromesh" whatever that means:eek:=))

Tony.

Did you notice the difference between yours and the Si in power mate?

For sure it definitely has a bit more Dave, but comparing an auto to a manual is difficult. The Si engine does seem to rev more freely I think and is very nice to drive like the ones I've driven at work (which sometimes need a new headlight bulb or windscreen wipers road testing) but the difference in stability is more noticeable without doubt.
My only criticism is that the exhaust is too loud for my taste from inside the car.

Tony.

I'm sure the stability wilI be down to Lee's mods as well as the rigidity of having a roof.
Yes I recall his exhaust being rather rebel when I was out with him looning around Basingstoke ring road! :rally:

It might depend on who's riding with you...................Frankie
PS. It might not be loud enough............

I wouldn't worry too much about the noise - it won't bother you as much as you get older :D

@Rha I'll swap the Alpina exhaust rear end for yours willingly Roy

Your Alpina doesn't need an exhaust statement Notzed its already the genuine article
Although they really look the part. Ask Lee where he got the ends, they are rather larger than normal so you might have to fettle them in to stop them burning the bumper.

He drove it real nice Dave, not what I expected had to tell him to try it properly. Love going up there cos the Lake Fish down here just don't do it for me, probably the way the northerners cook it.=))
As for the browny points well I've probably set myself up for changing the bathroom floor and radiator, so maybe I should have stayed at home. Was worth it though. Shame you other northerners didn't turn up, just not the same trying to take the pisch out of just one especially when he's deaf. Don't know how he reckons it's too noisy when he can't hardly hear it. =))
We realised its been quite a long time since my last visit and the weather was cold and wet so the coupe is absolutely filthy, but still better than driving behind @Antm72 and @Andy McDonnell who purposely hit all the farmers muck to get my Z as dirty as pos. Miss them????? No not a bit.=))

That's the front of my Z3 they're laughing at when we got back off the rally route couple of years ago. They think I don't know the score.
Tony??? Now he's a real nice northerner, a bit posh but OK.:pompus:

"He's been gone a long time just for a pee Tony"
"What you saying Bozzy, you don't think he's had an accident do you????"
"Well he is getting on a bit Tony"
"Oh god, Shirl only cleaned the toilet this morning"
"Best go and warn her then Tony"

I wasn't gone for long and stood just out of sight listening to them and walked into the garage pulling at the rear of my pants every now and again. True story, ask em.
Bloody northerners!!!!!! =))

Roy.;)

Yeh!!!! Would have been good to see you and Bozzy.
Next time, hopefully.

Roy.:)

PS, The drive home in the dark was nearly as bad as driving in the fog, the downpour was relentless and the wipers could all but cope for about an hr.Then the extra time on the B roads to get round the A1M closure. Thank you nice new white Jag limo which I followed throughout for not visiting the farmer via a field cos no doubt Silly arse here would have etc. Spose I would normally have overtaken but took the easy way out and just followed, which added about an extra hr on the journey. Must admit the coupe was really well behaved in the wet, credit to the choice of tyres I reckon. @Lee.
