I went out for an hour this afternoon just to get out the house for a bit. Towards the end of my run out I was coming through Collingham out towards the A46 Lincoln - Newark road.
At about 2 minutes in you'll see I had a fairly close shave with 3 Muntjack Deer. I spotted the first two ok, but then came a late arrival. Good job my brakes are keen, but a reminder that I need to get the upgrade finished.

Tony.

Someone had a lucky escape - nearly venison on the Torksey Meet menu this year :D

OMG that's soooo lucky :nailbiting:

That was a narrow squeek! ....small deer would still make a mess.. engine sounded sweet when you got out onto the open road.

It could have been worse mate couldn't it. They make a fair old mess of cars.

Tony.

Flipping eck! :wideyed:. Love you see the deer in the woods when I'm out with the dogs, not attached to the front door of cars.

Close call there mate, as said, that would've made a mess of your Zed.

My goodness.......... :p
how lucky were you @t-tony :)

Sadly (or fortunately) you are not allowed to take your own roadkill home. I've heard that some rural police get to eat quite well because of this fact.

I always stop if I hit partridge or Pheasant, I am aware of the law but can't imagine it being upheld, close call Tony

A near miss indeed - another second faster and there could have been human injuries!

Yes - some very lucky deer there. It's never nice even with rabbits and pheasants, but, many years ago I had worse. Much worse :(
Wrong place - wrong time.

Yeah I know, however you are allowed to take someone elses ;) Especially if Shirl came to check on Tony after the event :D

I've seen the mess a badger can do to a cars front before ( not mine thankfully ) and over in the States have seen the result from a deer strike - not good at all.

Crikey Jesus,a close shave indeed :nailbiting:.
That would have turned my legs to jelly.

Liking the induction noise though mate when you gave it the beans on the dual carriage way .

Steve

As you say Tony as very close shave, lucky deer ....and you;)

Glad you missed out on that Tony!! Over here it's the bears, moose and then deer that are the worst. They usually end up coming through the windshield at the driver taking them out with them. Upgrade those brakes buddy! JIM

I saw a picture once on here of a Moose which had ended up inside(mostly) a car. What a mess, bloody big animal though.
Tony.
