Yeah, it's definitely a radical change, but good on you for picking a unique color! I'm definitely going to keep an eye on this thread for your updates, and I'll definitely share photos of my paint job once it's done.

One option I'm also considering over having the car painted is plasti dip... It'll give the color and holographic flakes I want and can be clear coated, but costs significantly less than a new paint job.I'm not sure if the quality will be the same and I'm sure it won't last nearly as long, but it's something I feel is worth considering!

Also... even bigger coincidence is that I'm also from Ontario :) What a small world.
Not quite sure as to what plasti dip is not heard of that. I can say that if I'd had to have paid for complete colour change to the standard this is going to be or hope it to be it would have been out of my price range.
Will pm you some pictures when finished and sat on its wheels. Although there will be some put on here as well.

Although I'm a bit of a one for keeping cars like the Z3 in original colours, I must say I'm looking forward to seeing the finished article. I love that candy apple red colour. Had a guitar that colour years ago, couldn't play it, but it looked great on the wall !!

Well there you go I don't think changing the colour is moving to far out of original and most of car will still be that way. But some times you have to up date a little just to be different and make better. What make of guitar I have 3 of them but mine are sunburse now that would be different lol.
Won't be long now till I get it back.

Got a call from paint shop last night, he said it's all red now but did I mind giving him until Friday as he wants to put another two coats of clear on to give it more depth. How could I refuse it's causing a bit of a sensation over his paint shop with people that have seen the colour, he says it really pops. I've been told I'm not aloud to see it until Friday when I go over to help hang everything back on, fit the new stainless roll hoops and new soft top. That seems like another year away today. Pictures will be posted.

I know that feeling. It's worth the wait for the extra clear coat. Although mine was resprayed a standard colour the new clear coat gives it more depth and shine than it ever had from the factory.

It certainly is, I was over the paint shop on Friday hanging parts back on, the bonnet and front bumper were still in paint booth. I am back there tomorrow to fit them Tuesday soft top goes back on along with wheels Wednesday is electrics day. Then trailer is booked for Thursday along with MOT. As soon as I can I will put pictures on here.
Sorry for the delay I was hoping it was going to be done last week.

Well, if we're getting impatient God knows how you must be feeling. I remember how I was after getting cars painted years ago. Time would not pass quick enough.;) Still looking forwards to seeing the results mate. Don't rush it and we can wait

Tony.
