There were a few companies at the classic car show doing electric conversions but what is the fun of a classic with no engine.
Agreed. Some cars it’s the whole thing that’s makes a classic. @AleNod mentioned the 4 carbs. That’s one of attractions of the car. The skill and rewards of getting them set up is part of the attraction. Some, not many, but some cars are just special. The E-type is deeply part of the UK motoring history and rare enough to warrant leaving them unchanged imho. Unless if you happen to have a body shell in good condition but no engine - possibly….

Funny how we can see something like this E type and still think of it as a classic, I’m afraid it’s no longer a classic if it’s not driven by the engine first produced for that car. Maybe some people think that they’ll no longer be able to drive it as original and I think that’s the message the eco people just want us to believe. When the government of the day say we can no longer drive air polluters on the road that’ll be the time to maybe go for something like this Etype. Can’t see it coming to that, I think they’ll try and make it too expensive to run polluters and they’ll be banned from most towns and more than likely villages. If I’m still around I think I’ll buy a electric scooter and fit a supercharger to it, NO not that sort, the one someone will invent to make it go like a E-type.=))

Soz ! The standard was 3 wasn't it. The last one I saw was that white V12 at Thoresby, spent a bit of time talking to that really nice Scottish owner. He used it for runs home to see the family - he loved it, as you should !

The V12 has 4. Sorry Tony, CRAFT moment Alex (Cant Remember A Thing)

I was questioning myself Alex if I'm honest.:)

the worrying think about this it will no longer be motoring for the masses , i still cant see how the average person who doesnt live in a house with a drive were they can charge there car will be able to own a car

And no one in Government seems to want to tell us either.

Tony.

Well good luck to all those that will still hold a driving licence in 20yrs time, cos untill they stop making the petrol/ combustion engine there's hope. The arabs will spend a fortune finding an additive to oil making them viable once more then the electric cars will fall by the way side hopefully.
Just looking out the window to see if there's any flock of chickens doing a fly over. Nope!!! But good god there's a pig.!!!

Roy.

Not forgetting the good old saying which brought huge crowds falling over themselves with laughter when some prominent geezer said, "And man will land on the moon with his speedo's and sun shades". I despair!!!!!

the think that gets me is the car advert thats shows a car can charge with a fast charger in 5 mins will be capable to do 64 miles the fast charger is 350kw ! thats 631 amps at 400 v 3phase or 1624 amps at 240 v were on earth are we going to get that amount of power most houses incoming fuses are 80A or 100A unless we replace the entire electrical infrastructure
