Thank you all!

Probably in reverse order - I know Toddington well - used to be a volunteer on the GWSR. Will keep an eye open for possible meets.

Aylesbury - passed through on Monday - quick visit to relatives that live in the house my folks owned back in the late '60s. Was on my way home from a Morgan friend near Gt. Missenden.

Originality - according to the dealer both sills and NSR wing have been replaced (rust). The previous owner certainly spent a lot on the car and didn't cover many miles over the last three years.

Will be looking for a few things to add - a wind blocker (though compared to a Morgan it's an almost draft free cockpit!), rain cover for when the weather turns worse, rear screen/hood protector, though one of the dog's old rolled up towels will suffice for the present, cover for the hood when folded down and a workshop manual (I sold the Bentley manual to a chap in Dublin after I sold my last Z).

Cheers,

Shelly

Hehe, :)
If it's any consolation it's pretty wet up here in Gloucestershire, too!
I gave up on dx chasing years ago - just found the mostly EU zoo too much hassle. So, the occasional SOTA chasing and follow of WAB now and then. Haven't been on much over the last 3 years due to XYL being rather ill. Plan to get out and check / replace aerials and feeders come the spring. QRM level, even on vhf bands, is getting worse at this QTH though.

Andy - amateur radio, sadly being killed by poorly manufactured and designed shoddy electronic goods, plus data comms devices using inappropriate/unsuitable methods of passing traffic... (Better put my soapbox away! =)) ).

Hi Graham, Bonzo here. I replied to your introduction thread on .net! I use a length of foam plastic pipe lagging to shape and protect the rear screen and a large towel draped over the hood when folding to stop any more wear marks from the hood frames on the fabric.
All the best,

:drinks:

Bonzo.

Hi Bonzo,
Yes I had noted that reply. Simplest options usually work best.
When it stops raining I will have a dig around in the shed for pipe lagging. Better not use a dog towel for draping over the hood though - I'll never get all the hairs out of it! :)
If I could figure out how to work the sewing machine I could even stitch the lagging into a large towel (but one thing at a time! )

Cheers,

Hi and welcome from Warwickshire.
Lots on here have a Zed and Landy of some description. Not all as hardcore as a Defender though.

Hope you've seen the Calendar but sadly I think you're just a couple of days late to order one. There may be a couple spare though. Hope we'll see you combining your car and photography passions for next year. :snaphappy::coolsteer)

10-4 Good bud.;) I was an AMCB nut back in the day and picked a bit of the "Q" code from skip talking to US truckers. I got into trouble "bleeding" all over local TV and had to stop.:(

Another thank you for the "Welcomes".
Colin, I know the area - in my pre-Prescott days I used to run a Rally Recovery unit.

Tony, many from the old CB days went on to take the amateur radio license. There must be a lot of kit gathering dust in lofts, both CB and amateur radio, where people have dropped out of the radio "hobby". I took the amateur license while training for the Marine Radio tickets. Just realised that was over 40 years ago

Thanks.
Despite being rather dirty today it seemed to attract some positive comments on the colour :)

Cheers,
