Well I'm coming up to my first six months as a member on this site and just thought I'd air my appreciation of what a superb site young Gaz has created (just had his birthday!) I rather suspect it has exceeded Gaz's expectations and grown into a real community packed with not only technical advice needed to keep Zeds running at an affordable level, but also generated a real family feel and a sense of belonging. Gaz did say in a message to me that it is a labour of love - I believe him.
So having always wanted to visit the Lake District for donkeys years I got to do it last month for a week, again thanks to this site and the great people on it, in this instance the work of Andy McDonnell. I even got to spend a week in a caravan with a suspicious chap ( meant in the best possible taste lowrider :) ).
So as a gesture I donated some dosh to keep Gaz's beer fridge topped up . . . . er, I mean pay for software updates =)), perhaps you guys 'n gals that haven't done likewise could consider a donation, the site doesn't run for free.
So, not only have I now been to the Lake District but I've been on runs out, met great people, talked zeds, learnt loads and I believe a group of you are now sur le continent . . . . all thanks to Gaz, . . . . ooh I've also sold zhed loads of bits too!!!
So, don't take this site for granted.
All the best Gaz, you deserve it.

Yes I agree, this is a brilliant forum probably the best I have been on and I have been on a lot.... Since joining this forum my car looks nothing like it did when I picked it up. I told my wife I would not be spending any money on it , yes I lied , I lied a lot and the spending still goes on. I have managed to make a meet at Santapod and that was a great day to meet a lot of you. The only problem I have is you all put new ideas in to my head then I have to tell my wife more lies... Haha so thanks @GazHyde for accepting me ... Here's to the next meet :thumbsup:

Zroadster.org is a great community and all thanks to Gaz and it's members.
I've made new friends and enjoyed the cruises I have attended and even those I haven't.
 
Thanks for the kind words Adrian, and everyone else of course. I'm incredibly proud to have started something which has made a difference in some people's lives. Yes, I know that sounds a bit over the top but if you look at how we are together on here I think you get that. Or you don't!

The way you all come together on here and respect each other is awesome, and the way you welcome every new member sets us aside from other sites. This place wouldn't be the place it is without that level of respect and inclusion (and some times tolerance) towards others.

As for lying towards your loved ones, or developing spending problems, I can't help :D

Agree totally, its been a bit of a saviour for me TBH, met some great people from .org and hopefully many more to come.
 
Hadn't realised you were even more of a 'fresher' than myself with yourself now on your 2nd zed ! Great to see your 'M' at the Lakes :)

I was a member for a year before I posted my first message, I can't keep away from the place now. The forum is a great place to be but actually getting out and meeting fellow members adds a whole new dimension to the experience.

It's given us a whole new social life

Well put @Synclare! I couldn't agree more with @GazHyde words with regards of what it has done to peoples lives. It has changed mine completely. A total new bunch of friends, my zed which I love, never driven a car that gives me so much enjoyment. The meets, the cruises and now euro cruises. Who would ever have thought it! Keep up the good work Gaz..we do really appreciate it. :thumbsup:
 
Absolutely, I think we all need to raise a glass to Gaz. I'm amazed at the distances you travel to get to events Garry, excellent effort!

You still up Grumps? Been looking at your mug shots on the Eurocruise write up .Looking at those beer glasses I reckon you must have spent as much on ale as fuel for Reggie! Agree with what you said though. Bet young Gaz is blushing :)
