Well done Amy, insurance for a 2.8 isn't to bad for new drivers @Bozzy! =))

Congratulations Amy and watch the Zed now Steve you know that question is gonna be popped =))
Brilliant news and in this day and age a true achievement :party:

Well done Amy :p
What a great feeling it is when your children pass their driving test ;)

Thanks happy feet ;)
Hey don't encourage her it's going to cost a kings ransom to insure the little Clio, makes me glad I'm not a teenager any more.

You're right there mate,I already have to hide the zed keys.......will have to lock them away now :nailbiting:

That's what Brandon's got @Bozzy ( Clio ) :p
He passed his test a few weeks ago also 1st time :)
His insurance was £1700 he's 20years old ;)

A great little car as a first one though and a new lease of independence for Amy.:)

Thats ok oh short one! Just gone through all this with Jack. Cost £1800 to insurance his Punto worth half that!

Thanks Shelly,I think I was happier about it than Amy :D

Steve

Yes I can quite believe that Steve :p
I was on hot bricks when B done his a few weeks ago :)

Well done young Brandon
The insurance is a stumbling block for the young ones,Sara managed to get a quote of £1200 for Amy fully comp with me as a named driver, and they fit a tracker type thing to monitor her driving.

Steve

Yes the insurance is a crazy price :p
He only paid half that amount for his car :)
But at least he's safer in his car than his motorbike ;)
And he don't get wet when he goes to work :)

Amy wanted a motorbike and I am so pleased she didn't even though I've always had them until a few years ago. As you say much safer in a car Shelly.

It is Ant and we only paid £450 for it :).
Just seems ridiculous that insurance is sooooo much for it,but I guess it's the damage the young drivers can potentially do to others

Steve

Great news, well done Amy. Our boy passed his test 8yrs ago now and his insurance for a 1.3 Golf was £1700 so prices have actually come down since then.

Well done Amy. Dads taxi is now redundant!

Going to be going through the same in a few months when Jonathan does his test. In some ways a 2 seater is better - it'll put off having a load of freeloading mates in the car. Any decent two seat small cars out there?

A lot of my mates started off with Escort Vans, so maybe a van is the way to go ?

Only know of the Merc built smart car 600 cc 2 seats but not the cheapest. Not sure on insurance with it being small engined but think they are turbo'd.

Cracking idea - put 1/2 of concrete in the back to use the space and slow it down and bob's you mothers brother!
