He refused to have a Panda - little does he knowThe Ka is a good little car, basically a Fiat Panda under the skin including the brilliant little Fiat "Fire" engine which has been proven for a good many years. Ideal 1st car Ian.
Tony.

Nothing is what it seems when it comes to car engines....A local driving instructor who is a customer at work used to own a P206 diesel which eventually became unreliable so he went and changed it for a Fiesta diesel and brought it to show us at work, saying I wasn't going to have one of bloody awful Peugeot Diesel engines again. Little did HE know.

Well done young JohnathonWell @Bozzy - The day has all but arrived!
Jonathan passed his driving test at first attempt a few days before his 18th birthday a few weeks ago.
Been looking around for something that wasn't going to be crippling from an insurance perspective, so, it was going to be a 10 year old+ Fiesta as the first choice. However, I looked at a nice and much newer Ford KA a few weeks ago and got some quotes on it. It was much cheaper than a Fiesta etc. In fact, for a brand new driver on a non-telematics policy it was less than £1k.
So, despite being a smaller car we bought a lovely (but different) Ford KA today. Nicely spec'd including ac and heated front screen. Pick it up Tuesday.
No more bus passes to be bought. No more late night cross town taxi service. Result.

I got fed up of fetching the cleaning stuff out only to find it filthy and grit in the bottom of the bucketYep. Been through that, why do sons and daughters, and wives for that matter, think car cleaning stuff grows on trees?
Tony.

.I so wanted to get a Fiat Chinqucento in yellow like the one from the inbetweeners series for Amy's first carHe refused to have a Panda - little does he know![]()

That's going to mean three sets of car cleaning stuff. This is getting complicatedI got fed up of fetching the cleaning stuff out only to find it filthy and grit in the bottom of the bucket.
So we got Amy her own bucket and washing accoutrements and I keep my expensive stuff hidden.

Oh the humiliation - and they still have to be happy.I so wanted to get a Fiat Chinqucento in yellow like the one from the inbetweeners series for Amy's first car

Funny how things change eh mate,if someone offered to buy me a first car I wouldn't of been too fussy........i mean after owning a Morris Marina as my firstOur Abz's previous boyfriend's dad was very well off and we went out one Sunday to buy him a car. His dad chose a 3cyl Corsa, stroppy, spoiled son went off in a huff. Wasn't having a 3 cyl. car, what would all his mates think? If it had been my son he would've had that or b***** all, spoiled brat.
Tony.

.You was a lucky lad mate, but at least you appreciated it.My first was a Morris Mini Minor, which my Dad bought me for £50, I thought it was the world mate.
Tony.
