Well I guess it's marginally more interesting news than the crap about the election...
Gary,

As an active member of parliament it saddens me to see that you have disengaged with the forthcoming general election. One should remember that if you don't vote then really it is inappropriate for you to voice an opinion on how the elected party governs the county...

Lecture over... now back to filling in my expenses form

POG,,

Ps. Only joking...

Hahaha, you failed at the start by stating "active member of parliament" - no such thing has ever existed...
In any country!! Over here if the "serve 8 yrs they get a huge lifetime pension. And now our PM has raised the qualifying age for Canada Pension from 65-67. Forcing the people who most deserve to retire to work 2 years longer. JIM

I never thought I would say this but they do exist. Ours is a local, family man who has worked tirelessly on local issues and has made a difference. If there were more like him around Parliament would be a very different place.

I've always figured if they dropped it to 63 enough people could retire to allow for mo the unemployed to find jobs. Then they could start paying their dues as we have to support themselves into retirement as well as having the good feeling that comes from having a job as opposed to fretting over having to live with Mom and Dad or getting ion with raising a family. When I bring this up to campaigning candidates they agree it's a great idea and makes fiscal sense but when they get elected they only worry about getting their time in and sucking at the people teets. As we approach the next election just keep this in mind..........

While stitching a cut on the hand of a 75 year old farmer, whose hand was caught in the squeeze gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man.

Eventually the topic got around to politicians and their role as our leaders....
The old farmer said, "Well, as I see it, most politicians are 'Post Tortoises'.”

Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a 'post tortoise' was.

The old farmer said, "When you're driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a tortoise balanced on top, that's a post tortoise."

The old farmer saw the puzzled look on the doctor's face so he continued to explain. “You know he didn't get up there by himself, he doesn't belong up there, he doesn't know what to do while he's up there, he's elevated beyond his ability to function, and you just wonder what kind of dumb arse put him up there to begin with."

Best explanation of a politician I've ever heard

We are all to blame for that. We don't select the Candidate but we do vote for them becoming PM. Politicians are all a shower of S==T. I will vote for my country next Thursday and it wont be Red or Blue

The place I work at has quite a few people collecting there pensions and working full time, they can't be made to leave as this is agism, and they would be the last to be made redundant as the payoff is the largest.
