A Must to keep the Rain Off!!

Not attending, Jamezee, that's a shame :( You'll miss all the fun, perhaps it will be on the News with an eye in the sky :ympray:
Perhaps we'll have better luck at RAF Conningsby one day, and show you then ;)

I know :(

I am going to try and get over to Conningsby in July for Jamezee senior's birthday ( not zedcarer my other dad), hopefully they might put in an appearance ;)

Hi Mike & Sandy
For one minute I thought it was my Mora that was under the cover!
I brought one exactly the same as for a few moths the car had to be out side as the garage was full of furniture form the house afte the broken pipe!
It works well and keeps everything dry, but I am finding now that there are some few light scratches around where it fits.
Have you had the same experience?

Good feedback that, unfortunately, confirms the concerns......

Not so far, Nigel, but we bought it because we thought it was going to tip it down the weekend we were at Horwood for Silverstone. so it hasn't been on the car for any length of time!
It's a shame if it is causing the damage, as the overall design and quality is so good and it's surprising too, as the grip of the magnetic edge is not hard. Are they scratches or are they marks? Perhaps the sun has softened, melting the edging that the magnet is coated in, causing a deposit to form on your Mora's paintwork, which if so, would then harden when the sun goes in and the bodywork cools, making it hard to remove without rubbing away the surrounding paint. :-ss

Sorry not to be of more help, but nice to hear from another Mora Zedder, :ymhug: how about some pics!! Will look out for some now! :)

If you are keeping it on for long periods, could you not sandwich some soft cloth or tissue between the paint and the cover? Might cut down on any scratches if the cover does move...

We thought that would be a possibility too, Gary, but it would either need to be a really long piece of material to go all the way round the edge or a very large sheet, slightly larger than the cover to go under it, but it would have to be waterproof material or capillary action means that the rain would permeate under the cover. All that would probably be too much of a phaff each time you put it on. ~x(

You could find some really good adhesive tape to fix permanently round the bottom of the cover, but it would have to have very sticky adhesive, to say there for good! :-ss

I doubt material would Completely resolve the issue. Anything that is held against your pAintwork with the ability to move will cause damage, especially if it's not completely clean.

Rain is good, rain is free, a good hard shower can wash a lot of contaminants off the car and it makes your flowers grow.
Oh, and it also tightens up the fibers of your soft top........ :bulb

Hardtop going back on soon, maybe in black..... :-?

:D

Apologies Sandy for an opposite view - bought one of these a couple of months ago - it has marked the paintwork and after many conversations with the seller, i returned it - he just didnt want to know about it. I got a full refund but no concern what so ever was forthcoming for the zed. It was not used in windy conditions, we live in a 'pocket' so happy that the cover wasnt blown or disturbed whilst on the zed.

I would be wary of this product.

Thanks Gill for the advice, we will be watchful of using it from now on! Hopefully there will be no more rain between now and next spring!!!! :ymdaydream: :))
Seriously, do you think it was the plastic edging or the Magnets inside that caused the marks? :-? Have you managed to polish out the marks yet?

I took some pics, will find and post them later - the seller didnt want to see them as he said it woulnd not achieve anything showing him pictures and that our conversations would only end up futile :-o :ymdevil:

If anyone wants to sell theirs let me know, my paintwork isn't the best anyway, I'm more worried about preventing my seats from going mouldy with all the water that gets in!!
