A/C Evaporator and Exspansion value replacment

My 1997 BMW Z3 1.9 M44 has an A/c problem. Looks the A/C compressor needs a replacement but I am wondering if we also overhaul a whole A/C system. Can you please advise me we can replace the expansion value and an evaporator easily without removing the dashboard? My car is left handle car.

Most shops that I have dealt with (in Arizona) will replace the compressor, evaporator, expansion valve, condenser and receiver/dryer. They will also recommend a system flush. This is especially true if they suspect the system self-destructed and compressor debris circulated in the system.
