TBH I wouldn't want to drive over the Alps in any 1970s car. They were all pretty terrible as a means of transport IIRC.
But I would be persuaded by a De Tomaso Pantera, if I had a fully comp European AA membership and many rest stops.

The Lancia…. best engine noise ever.
But, truly and you will understand me…
my weapon of choice would be….View attachment 332493
If we are talking '70s, I think I would take a Z1, or if feeling suicidal, a KH500.
I am a Kawasaki fan through and through!

A KH over a mountain? Can't see any problem with that idea. Oh no.

Having had an H1A in the past, they are/were curable. All you gotta do is slip the lump into an LC frame, fits like it was made to do it, and cures all the wayward handling. Oh for the days when an LC rolling chassis was available for 250 quid, that sort of behaviour wouldn't be financially viable these days.

I’ve tried that in the past. Never again.
The pattern when riding these was slow, slow, slow, extrasuperfast, dead.
Actually the friend who had it called the bike TOD. (Taste of Death)

Firenze for me too, wife had a 2300 magnum early 80’s it was a great car back then, mates Dad had. Lancia in the 70’s it was rusting after a year but went well and sounded great!

I passed my test two weeks after my 17 th birthday and bought a Z1 , rode the hell out of it and still here nearly 50years on and still riding.
Think the handling was over hyped myself, it’s all we knew back then but we didn’t have the self preservation I do now😂

I seem to remember the 2002 seats were a bit too firm, so the Vauxhall. but I would prefer my newly re-built steed to even a Jota.
Yamaha actually tuned the exhaust to sound like a MV.
