6 car pile up A47 today

My son was involved in a 6 car pile up today ....
It was at 8.15 this morning on his way to work
He was very very lucky he was the third car in the little white car in front of him spun around and he thought no I'm going to kill the driver, but he swerved and just clipped her car in his wing mirror he could see the car behind him but that car swerved and just missed him but the 2 cars behind went into each other . The police has just phoned him with insurance details etc , he asked how the other people were as 4 of them got taken to hospital, he said they are all ok but battered and bruised.
The young girl didn't have any insurance etc so I expect she will be in trouble......
The only people that weren't injured were my son and the man in the car behind him .
How lucky was he .
His work sent him home as they said he must be shaken up .
So please be careful when you go out and about.

Oh dear sorry to hear this Shelly. Any damage to vehicles is irrelevant in these situations. For me it's all about the people. Everyone inluding your son are ok and that is all that matters. Even with the illegal driver everything else can be sorted and all will be well.

I keep thinking about the poor young girl with no insurance I bet she is devastated, poor girl ,
You never no what is going to happen :)
 
I'm sorry but I have no sympathy for anyone driving without Insurance Shelly. The consequences of that can be very far reaching.

No one was badly hurt so that is the main thing.
Thats the trouble these days, with so much traffic on the roads, one minor mistake by someone can so quckly escalate into a major incident.
Agree with Tony, the girl with no insurance should now have her car crushed. ( as should ANY vehicle that is found being driven that has no insurance]
 
Hope Brandon is ok today, Shelly. He was very lucky not to be hurt.

He was very lucky not to be injured by an uninsured driver too. Hope he gets over it ok.

Glad to hear he is OK Shelley. Keep an eye on him as when someone ran into me a while ago the shock did not kick in until the next day.
Like others on here, I have little sympathy with those that drive without insurance. They should crush her car and throw the book at her, but luckily no one was seriously hurt.

Luckily there were no HGVs involved. Thank your lucky stars for that.

What he must do is get back into the drivers seat and drive asap to keep his confidence.
Testament to him and his driving that he was able to miss the major part of incident. He will also have learnt a valuable lesson about other drivers and their abilities (or otherwise).

Go give the lad (another) hug!

He is a strong person :)
He said it keeps going through his mind what could of happened :(
Someone must of been looking over him that day ;)
