507's - Common as Buses!

For me the interior is enhanced by the wonderful period style steering wheel but am I correct in assuming that the lack of airbag would in theory be an MOT fail?

Earlier in this thread you'll see mention of changes to the V5. (Vehicle registration doc). It's possible to have DVLA change the vehicle model name to something else such as "BMW 507 Replica". Or whatever. Now obviously MOT station has no data on what specification such a car should have so can't assume an airbag should exist.

But a car registered as Z3 should have an airbag and would/should fail its MOT.

How'd you do that? Do you come out of the rear silencer and go sideways to either side of the car and then do another 90 degree turn to come out the back?
I’m removing the rear pipe and a new system with two small sport mufflers are being added from about half way along the car. Then stainless pipes bent to position.
the spare wheel has been deleted so there’s plenty of room

I found that if you keep the small centre box and then just run straight through pipes to the rear it gives a great sound without being too much. I also tried with the centre box removed but it was just too loud.

I agree with Duncodin, for many the enjoyment comes from the challenge of the build which requires a different vision from a restoration. For others the enjoyment is driving something that "looks the part of a classic" but doesn't provide the abject fear of operating a classic on the road with all the road warriors !
