Well today being the start of an alleged 5 sunny days I was off out. Nipped up the A6 from Derby and dropped by the Riverside Gardens at Belper. A small but nicely laid out park it was looking rather good for so early in the year, I suspect the array of pansies were not there prior to Easter though!

On to Black Rocks at Bolehill/Wirksworth where I paid respects at a grave opposite Black Rocks. A nicely kept cemetary, passed the time of day chatting with a couple over a cup of tea in the rather warm sunshine, not so much as a breeze. A walk through Black Rocks followed.

Then into Wirksworth and on up to Middleton Top on the High Peak Trail. Visited the engine house used to haul wagons up the steep incline:

They are having it running this B/H weekend so may get myself up there again:

Toddled off home but encountered a ruddy great pothole en route, went with such a bang, no visible damage and when home jacked up and span wheel and both inner/ outer rims were 'bob on'. Will take off and check for cracks but guess tyre would deflate if so?

I was coming at it from the opposite viewpoint i.e top of the photo.
Trip computer recorded 36.7mpg overall which is about normal.

Nice photos Adrian, some of the potholes are terrible and with the sun and shade you can't always see them until it's too late! Sounds like a pleasant and interesting day out apart from the pothole.
