35is - #35

Driveability whats it like compared to the 2.3 and 3.0?
Very different - as I think I'd said before I didn't really notice much difference between the 23i and 30i but the 35is is an absolute rocket ship when you want it to be.

In normal mode it's a very sedate lovely sounding cruiser ideal for the Mrs and me to take in the Peak District scenery. Howevwr, in Sport+ mode it's a growling monster that flatters my driving ability much more than the MCoupe & MRoadster every did.

I'd like to say I've finally found my perfect Zed but with my track record it's probably best if I reserve judgement for now 😉

This car doesn't have the storage package which means I don't get the cupholders under the armrest or the storage area under the dash near your right knee.

Personally having had them both before I prefer a car without the storage package. It gives you a bigger storage area under the armrest and I find 3D printed cupholder from the Z4Forum member is a much better solution than the OEM solution.

And on that note I fitted said cupholder today which I'd removed from my previous E89 👍

Had it before with old SAAB's and a couple of times with some of the Z3's where the seatbelt wouldn't retract effectively - usual solution is to give them a deep clean and remove any crud that builts up over time.

The E89 belts weren't at the stage of not retracting but there were a few marks that looked like they could do with a good clean so decided to cross that off the list today - especially with it being a perfect drying day 👍

Well this is a first for me.

The Tesla has a cabin overheat protection function which kicks in automatically to prevent the interior of the car getting above 40 degrees - and before you ask it doesn't work if the car has already burst in to flames as they have a tendancy to do on occasion 🤣

Anyway #35 has no such function so with the current daily temperature increases and the extended leather dash I thought it would be prudent to fit a sunshield 🌞

I don't want to be the one who says it's ever to hot to get out with the roof down but what I will say is that it was lovely to get out this evening for a top down drive :rally:
