First, didn't we have a place for pics somewhere on the forum and how do I get to in??? @hard top ????
Next. I had taken these pics many years ago and printed them out on the computer. The one with the wife is a little damaged but still viewable. I think I might have posted these a long time ago..........
The first two were taked at Sequiua National Park. I was standing in front of the General Sherman, the largest living organism on the planet.............
It's just amazing how big this tree really is....
Another was taked with my wife and her sister and husband....
The last picture was of my wife while we were on a camping trip. We were in Acadia National Park in Maine. In that area during the Ice Age, the Glaciers were a mile thick and carried all sorts of debris along with them as they traveled across the landscape. In their travels, they carried large rocks that became rounded. These rocks are called 'bubbles'. Since the glaciers were so thick, they were able to deposite these bubbles in very high places. This picture is of one of them on the ledge of a cliff. Here is a picture of it from the internet:
Two things from this picture is that you can't see how far below the valley floor is, and you can't really appreciate just how BIG this rock really is. It took us about an hour or more to climb the mountain to get to this height. In this next picture, which is a bit damaged, you can see just how huge this is next to my wife and the mist in the valley below prevents you from seeing just what kind of a drop off it is below. One frightening thing about this is that you can't understand what is holding this rock from falling over the edge. It seemes to be just hanging there by nothing........
