A great Grey Owl with the light in just the right place

Great to see barn owls, are they using the box, we have a pair that often use the paddock behind us, they are breeding in the local chapel
All the signs are that they are lots of poop but I try to curb my curiosity by getting to close .we have 2 boxes I’m hoping for a result in both :)

Did you put any medium in the bottom of the boxes, I have set two up and only one is in use and has been successful for six years now, without any medium it can take over 4 years for there to be enough detritus for the female to lay eggs on, I used a layer of peat and dried leaves on the successful one

Love it - only on here could you expect at 10:30pm on a Sunday night to come across a conversation about owl s**t! :whistle:

Just leaves I did ours with the advice of Montgomery barn owl trust.heres a couple of pics of our neibours birds don’t ask I only know ones male and ones female.

When was a kid I was a member of the RSPB.
When I stopped being a member in my teens, I learnt a lot about tits ....

Had to dig deep for these, this is the box that hasn't been used yet, but I haven't checked it for a couple of years

That’s inspired me to go and check out our ur tawny was nest it’s in a tree across a river and they are a pretty good breeding pair. I’ll try and get a pic tomorrow
